I read AV Club’s take saying that the third Purge movie was Oscar worthy and I nearly vomited.

Look, I’m not making this up! Honestly! Someone actually believed that one of the worst horror movies of recent memory, with atrocious acting, a cringe-worthy script and some of the most forced-down-your-throat heavy-handed social commentary deserved to win an award. I actually stopped going to the theater for a few months after sitting through “The Purge: Anarchy” it was so bad. And not in the “so bad, it’s good” or the sometimes entertaining while drunk “super cheesy slasher flic” way. Boring, tried to be an intellectual film (ha) and went on long enough that I was hoping to god for someone to pull a fire alarm. Or start a fire.

If I ever run for president, I will run on the platform of restricting studio’s access to make unnecessary sequels. Right now any writer can make a pitch to a producer and get to make “The Emoji Movie 2" it’s downright dangerous and harmful to this great nation. We need more government oversight and regulation of this volatile industry that has an enormous impact on America.

Vote for me in 2020 and I’ll require that I must personally authorize the production of any sequel or remake. And if I’m not familiar with the series, I’ll hold a national referendum that will require being a registered voter to participate in.

I support this fully and I’d like to petition for the position of secretary of transportation. I promise that if given office I’ll dismantle all highways and public roads, using the asphalt to construct tens of tracks per city, and replacing the old and antiquated freeway system with a new rally-style dirt course, spanning all of the continental US.

You have my vote! Also, can I run the Dept of Energy? I really have a hankering to see what a MD-11 would be like if it were powered by nuclear energy...I’m pretty sure I could get Boeing to open up a nuke-powered MD-11 line for some sweet govt contracts.
